We’re looking for an Class A CDL Driver who takes pride in safety, professionalism, and customer service. This position is based out of our Orangeburg, SC warehouse, where drivers report each morning to load trucks, prepare for deliveries, and return after completing their routes. Job Summary:

As a Class A CDL Driver, you’ll safely transport seed products to customers throughout the Southeastern United States while representing Mixon Seed Service with professionalism and excellent customer service. You’ll be responsible for loading and unloading products, completing deliveries on time, performing equipment inspections, and ensuring every load arrives safely and accurately.

This is not an over-the-road (OTR) home-based driving position. Drivers report daily to our Orangeburg, SC warehouse to load products, receive route assignments, and complete pre-trip inspections before making deliveries throughout the Southeast.

This position is ideal for someone who values safety, enjoys working independently, and understands that dependable deliveries are critical to serving our customers.

Class A CDL Driver Responsibilities:

Transportation & Deliveries: 

• Report daily to our Orangeburg, SC warehouse to prepare trucks and receive delivery assignments.
• Safely transport seed products to customers throughout the Southeastern United States.
• Plan and follow delivery routes using GPS and company technology.
• Complete deliveries accurately and on schedule.
• Communicate professionally with customers and warehouse personnel.
• Notify warehouse staff promptly of any delays or schedule changes.
• Return to the Orangeburg, SC warehouse after completing scheduled deliveries unless otherwise directed.

Loading & Product Handling: 

• Load products in a manner that prevents damage during transport.
• Count and verify products during loading and unloading.
• Assist with unloading deliveries when needed.
• Maintain product quality throughout transportation.
• Track delivery documentation and work hours accurately.

Vehicle Safety & Compliance:

• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Inspect trailers, air lines, jacks, and related equipment.
• Maintain proper fuel levels and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Follow all DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety procedures.
• Report unsafe driving or road conditions immediately.

Equipment & Communication:

• Operate GPS, iPhone, iPad, and company communication systems.
• Keep accurate expense records for reimbursement.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional truck.
• Assist with additional transportation and warehouse duties as needed.

Class A CDL Driver Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Class A CDL.
• Clean driving record for at least three years.
• Minimum of two years of semi-truck driving experience.
• Ability to pass a drug screening, background check, and physical.
• Ability to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to follow GPS directions and operate an iPhone or iPad.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to reliably commute to our Orangeburg, SC warehouse each workday.
• Willingness to travel throughout the Southeastern United States, including occasional overnight stays.

Strongly Preferred:

• Hazmat endorsement or certification.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong communication and time management abilities.
• Experience working in agriculture, seed, feed, fertilizer, or related industries.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Dependable work ethic and positive attitude.
